Technology news site Thurrott.com published a post on June 13, 2021, that Windows 10 Home and Pro ends on October 14, of 2025. A Microsoft support document regarding Windows 10 was recently edited to add the end-of-life date and up to this point had never described the end of support for Windows 10. What is especially notable is this is the first time Microsoft has ever given an end of support for Windows 10 overall. Up to this point, the support document only specified when a specific Windows 10 version would leave support.
The consensus from other close followers of Microsoft is that this support document change all but confirms that the “Next Generation Windows” that Microsoft will reveal next week is not going to be another version of Windows 10, rather Windows 11 (or some other name, Windows Sun Valley is another popular theory online right now).
Another interesting thing about this previously mentioned support document is that it notes that Windows 10 Home and Pro entered support in 2015 and will exit support in 2025. That time frame matches up nicely with the 10-year support lifecycles that Microsoft has previously maintained for previous Windows versions up to this point.
